Many people say they want the stereotypical university experience, and although This may be true for many people, some just want to learn about the campus, focus on school and create long lasting relationships. Some people are into sports, some people enjoy video games, some people love art. The best part about university is, it is your time to find out who you are, what you enjoy and how you want to approach each day. Sports, video games, art club all have one thing in common, Social connections. This is the foundation of humanity and if you like doing something, chances are you will find others who are passionate about it also.

While looking at the artwork around campus, I have found two pieces that I believe are beautiful. The canvas work is located in the House of Learning building, and the rock formation is located in the Old Main building. Art can be a great ice breaker and can provide a commonality for some people, and can help with social connection with peers. Through personal interpretation of the art, I believe both artists portrayed a connection to the land and show incredible skill with their work. I am unsure who was the creator of this work but I also see a great connection to indigenous culture and art.

This artwork is only some of the many pieces around campus. Searching and exploring more art within different buildings is something you and your friends can do.
