A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step – Lao Tzu. Your journey that is about to begin here at TRU really does begin with one step. That step that will lead to your greatness and fulfilling your dream. We are going to take you through stages that will help you enable this process.
The first stage is the admissions office; this is where one can go and apply. The admissions office is in the Old Main building on the first floor. The university has provided clear and bold signs that can show exactly where the Admissions office is. The admissions office mainly deals with those that want to apply, helping with the application process, giving a briefing about the school, and making sure your papers are in place to allow the process to be successful. This office will guide you and ensure that you meet the requirements of what Thompson Rivers may be looking for.
Below is a picture of the following offices including the admissions, registration, advising and the Office of the Registrar.
This picture was taken in the Old Main Building.
As the picture above shows, we have the Admissions office, Registration- where once the applicant has been accepted, this is where they can register for their upcoming courses. Advising is the next step to take once you have been accepted and you may need help choosing your course, allowing an individual to choose what they may be interested in doing in relation to their line of study. The picture below shows Anders standing directly above the advising sign and this is where he will get the help he may need.
At TRU, we strive to make the first following steps the easiest as we have got your back. As a new student you shouldn’t have to go through the hustle of getting your papers in order or what courses you should take. These departments will help you thoroughly prepare for your success. You will not need to worry about the courses that need to be taken because you will have an advisor who will give you a clear direction of the route to your destination. Once you have decided what courses you will need to take, this same office is where you will register and a clear explanation of how to navigate the moodle and other apps that the University uses so make your life at TRU easier to navigate.
Lastly, we have the finance department. This is where you will be paying your respective tuition fee and other costs that the school charges such as the U-PASS and the school newspaper. The school offers payment plans and financial assistance and financial advising too. This may give you a clear breakdown of how much the school costs and even how much will be needed till your degree comes to an end. With the different payment options, this department will be of great use and this would be the last stage you would need to go through before starting your journey at TRU.
